1. About the Platform
SokoShamba provides a digital agricultural infrastructure connecting Kenyan smallholders, commercial farmers, bulk buyers, input suppliers, logistics riders, and service providers across all 47 counties.
2. Accounts & Registration
Users must provide accurate, verified information upon registration. SokoShamba reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts engaging in fraudulent trade, misrepresentation of crop grades, or spam.
3. Produce Listings & Pricing
Sellers are responsible for the quality, quantity, and grading of listed produce and inputs. Prices must be quoted clearly in Kenyan Shillings (KES) per specified unit (e.g. 90kg bag, crate, kg, piece).
4. Orders, Escrow & Payment Release
Payments made via M-Pesa or card are held in secure escrow. Funds are disbursed to the seller and delivery rider once the buyer inspects and confirms order receipt, or within 72 hours of tracked delivery if no dispute is raised.
5. Logistics & Rider Deliveries
Riders and transport partners operate as verified independent logistics contractors. Both sender and receiver agree to provide reasonable access and clear communication for scheduled pickups and deliveries.
6. Disputes & Resolutions
In the event of non-delivery, damaged goods, or incorrect specifications, buyers and sellers agree to utilize SokoShamba's dispute resolution mechanism before seeking third-party claims.
