SokoShamba is a Kenyan agricultural marketplace developed and operated under the VirrTech brand, founded by Ryan Lagat. This Privacy Policy governs all user accounts, transactions, and services across SokoShamba.
2. Data We Collect
We collect account information (full name, email address, M-Pesa phone number, county, and farm location), agricultural produce and input listings, transaction and order records, and logistics dispatch details.
3. Purpose of Processing
We process your data to operate the digital agricultural marketplace, facilitate upfront Paystack Live and M-Pesa payments, coordinate managed delivery with vetted transporters, generate farm calculation tools, and disburse farmer earnings within our 3-day settlement SLA.
4. Transporter Privacy & Platform Coordination
To protect driver safety, ensure fair coordination, and prevent off-platform disintermediation, all delivery logistics are managed centrally by SokoShamba operations. Transporter identity and contact details are assigned and managed directly by SokoShamba administrators.
5. Payment & Financial Security
Payment transactions are processed by licensed payment gateways (Paystack and Safaricom M-Pesa). SokoShamba holds all buyer funds in escrow and disburses 95% Farmer Net Payouts and Driver Fares within 3 business days of delivery confirmation.
6. Data Rights Under Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019
