SokoShamba collects account details (full name, email address, M-Pesa phone number, county, and farm location), agricultural produce and input listings, transaction and order history, and communications between buyers, sellers, and delivery riders.
2. Purpose of Data Processing
We process your data to operate the digital agricultural marketplace, facilitate M-Pesa and card payments, coordinate pickup and delivery with transporters/riders, generate farm calculation insights, and protect against fraudulent activity.
3. Payment & Financial Information
Payment transactions are processed by licensed payment service providers (including Paystack and Safaricom M-Pesa). SokoShamba does not store or process debit/credit card details or M-Pesa PINs on our servers.
4. Information Sharing & Order Fulfillment
When you complete a transaction, only the necessary details required to fulfill the trade (such as recipient name, contact phone, and delivery county/town) are shared between the buyer, the seller, and the assigned delivery rider.
5. Data Rights Under Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019
You have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of your personal data held by SokoShamba. To exercise any of these rights, contact our Data Protection Officer at support@sokoshamba.co.ke.
6. Data Security
We utilize encrypted HTTPS transport, secure Supabase authentication with Row Level Security (RLS), and continuous infrastructure monitoring to safeguard all platform communications and user data.
